Sometimes, you need a little TLC, and so does your skin! While avocados are a trendy fruit to eat, they also offer amazing health benefits.
Their natural oils nourish, hydrate, and soften the skin, making them the perfect fruit – for topical use.
These hydrating nutrients help reduce wrinkles, and boost the skin’s immunity.
The good news is that you don’t have to spend the day at a spa to experience the luxury of a spa treatment. Here’s a DIY avocado face mask recipe for a nourishing, all natural glow.
face mask ingredients
- ¼ avocado
- fine avocado pit powder
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp sugar
- ¼ Greek yogurt
- 1-3 drops of lime
preparing your DIY avocado facemask
1. create an avocado pit powder
First thing to making the perfect avocado face mask is to prepare the avocado pit. This may be a bit more time consuming, but it is worth it! The end results offers you a smoother, brighter complexion, and who wouldn’t want that?!
To make the avocado pit powder, grate the avocado seed in a food processor. You may need to use a cheese grater first to break it down first for the processor to work.
For smaller batches, use half the pit. For larger batches, the whole avocado pit will do!
Blend until the avocado pit becomes a fine powder.
2. create your face mask base
First, you’ll want to add the yogurt to have a nice base. We recommend using 1/4 a cup of Greek yogurt.
Next, you’ll want to add:
- Add 1/4 pf the avocado pulp
- Add 1 tsp of honey
- Add 1 tsp of sugar
- Add 1-3 drops of lime
3. blend until smooth
Once you’ve added all of the ingredients, make sure you thoroughly blend it to remove any big chunks. The less chunky, the quicker and smoother it will apply.
4. apply & dry
Once, you have the mix ready, apply with a brush all over your face, if you have a more problematic area, you’d like to target apply a heavier coat on that spot or area.
Allow for it to dry for 10 mins, let the avocado and face masks gods and goddesses work their magic!
After, rinse with warm water, NEVER hot water because it irritates the skin..
Then, pat dry with towel. NEVER scrub or rub (again, it irritates the skin).
And lastly, look in the mirror. Yes! That is you, and you’re beautiful – before and after this mask!
